Matoshree Velbai Devaji Hariya Arts, Commerce & Science College, Shahad is coming to be known as one of the best higher education colleges in Kalyan Region. Every year thousands of students are pursuing their degree and shaping their future. This college is affiliated to University of Mumbai. Former Minister of Higher & Technical Education Prof.Laxmanrao Dhobale started this college through Shahu Shikshan Sanstha, Pandharpur in Shahad area for needy students.

The college is located in Scenic area of Shahad and various activities are organized by college for eco friendly environment. In collaboration with Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation various programs like Cleaning Campaign, Plastic free Campaign, Aids Awareness Rally, Railway Station Cleaning Campaign, Tree Plantation and Conservation are organized by college in nearby area.

In college Arts faculty students can complete their degree from Political Science, Economics, Marathi and History Subjects. Commerce faculty students can complete their degree in Commerce. National Service Scheme Unit is active in college and through this unit various activities are implemented. Every year NSS Unit adopts a village and work for its betterment.

In the pleasant area of Matoshre Velbai Devaji Hariya College the experienced and expert professors are giving knowledge to students. Professors are also engaged in research work. They are also participated in National & International conferences and Seminars and their research papers have been published in various journals.

College students are participated in many sporting events like Badminton, Powerlifting, Weightlifting and won medals at State, National & International Level. The College has spacious ground where advanced training of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Ball Badminton, Athletics are given to students. Many students have so far benefited from College’s Competitive Exam Guidance Center and many alumni are working in the fields of State service, Police Service, Banking & Social Work.
